Phillip M. Herr is a seasoned attorney and former associate judge with 22 years of legal experience. His unique perspective from both sides of the courtroom allows him to craft creative, effective negotiation and litigation strategies that benefit his clients. Before joining Dankesreiter & Emmet, LLP, Phillip served as an Associate Judge for Title IV-D Court #35, which covered seven counties in Texas, and operated his own practice in Flower Mound.
Phillip earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin before enlisting in the Texas Army National Guard. He completed a nine-month deployment in Bosnia-Herzegovina during Operation Joint Guard, earning six service medals throughout his military career. Afterward, he earned his Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law in Houston. Phillip is fluent in Spanish, a skill he developed over 19 years and enhanced through a study abroad program in Mexico City.
Licensed to practice in all Texas state courts, the United States Tax Court, and in the federal court in both the Northern District of Texas and the Eastern District of Texas, Phillip has extensive courtroom experience ranging from contested trials to prove-ups. He is actively involved in the legal and local community, having served on the boards of the Denton County Bar Association and the Flower Mound Rotary Club, and remains a member of the Lewisville Noon Rotary.
